TCP/IP Configuration
For configuration a RDP server, you need to have a fixed ip address on this system.
For example:

Installation DHCP Services
You need to have DHCP services running in you network. This can be done on the RDP server or on a dedicated server (requires different steps for installing PXE).
We're going to install it on our RDP server.
  • Go to Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs
  • Select Add/Remove Windows Components
  • Select 'Networking Services' and press 'Details'

  • Check 'Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)' and press 'OK'

  • Press 'Next'
  • Provide if required the path towards the i386 directory of you installation
  • Press 'Closed'
Configuration DHCP Services
Once DHCP installed, you'll need to configure it for each network segment you've on which server are booting requiring to be installed by RDP.
  • Log on as Administrator or equivalent
  • Go to Start - Administrative Tools - DHCP
  • Right click the server and select 'New Scope'

  • Press 'Next'

  • Fill a name and, if wanted, a description

    Press 'Next'
  • Fill in the start and end IP address of the range. Also correct the subnet mask if necessary

  • Press 'Next'
  • Since it'll work with a temporary IP address, we're going to decrease the lease duration to 1 day

  • Select 'Yes, I want to configure these options now'

    Press 'Next'
  • Router (Default Gateway): Provide a default gateway. Once filled in press 'Add'
    When finished, press 'Next'
  • Domain Name and DNS Servers: If we're keeping our RDP server in a workgroup you can just press 'Next' to go towards the next item. But if you have installed you RDP on a domain member server, its recommended to fill in with the appropriated data and to press 'Next' when finished.
    Remark: We can set this setting also globally for all scopes if necessary
  • WINS Servers: If available, you may fill in. Otherwise just press 'Next'

  • Activate Scope: Select 'Yes, I want to activate this scope now'

Required software
A list of software is required for installation tasks. Some of them need to be available during installation. So the RDP installation can take them in account.
