Installation
Installation process of RDP.
  • Log on as administrator or equivalent
  • Insert the DVD of RDP
  • Rapid Deployment Pack End User License Agreement screen:
    Press 'Agree'
  • Rapid Deployment Pack Overview screen:
    Press 'Next'
  • Rapid Deployment Pack Pre-installation Step screen:
    Press 'Next'
  • Rapid Deployment Pack Installation screen:
    You can now overview which items are already installed and which items you can install. By default is everything selected. In our case we deselect the option 'HP Integrity Integration Module 3.50'
    Press 'Install'
  • Depending from the fact if you've already install SQL 2005 or not. The system will check this. If not available it will install SQL 2005 MSDE. When OK or finished installing it will then start to install Altiris Deployment Server 6.8 SP1.
  • Software License Agreement:

    Press 'Yes'
  • Deployment Share Information:

    Located the server path desired.
    Since we'll add the licenses afterwards we just press 'Next'
  • Deployment Server Information:

    Provide the password of the service user name and press 'Next'
  • Deployment Database:

    System check the availability of a database server and will request to confirm the information.

    When ok, press 'Next'
  • Gathering Information:
    Press 'Next'
  • Pre-boot Operating Systems:
    Press 'Next'

    Notice that the following items will be installed:
  • Free DOS
  • Linux x86
  • Linux ia64
  • WinPE X86
  • WinPE x64
  • PXE Server Installation:
    Select 'Yes, I want to install PXE Server on this computer'.
    Check the PXE and Deployment Server IP address.
    Check the PXE Server installation path.
    Select the pre-boot operating system to use: Windows PE

    Press 'Next'
  • Deployment Agent Connection to Deployment Server:
    Press 'Next'
  • Deployment Console Information:
    Press 'Next'
  • Deployment Web Console Information:
    Select 'Do not install'
    Press 'Next'
  • Installation Information:
    Press 'Install'
    Now the system will install several items. Boot disk creator will create all selected items.
  • Installation Information: Summary
    Select 'Enable Microsoft Sysprep support'
    Press 'Finish'
  • Microsoft:
    Provide the location of Microsoft Sysprep file (OS Specific)
    Once done, press 'Finish'
  • ProLiant Integration Module Setup - Prerequisites
    Press 'Verify'. If everything is OK, press 'Next'

  • Installation Options:
    Select the OS for which you want to add scripted install support.
    When finished, press 'Next'
  • Configuration Options:
    Provide the key's for the OS version you're planning to install.
    Press 'Next', when finished.
  • System will now ask to provide the path towards each OS selected
  • Installation and Configuration:

    Press 'Finish'
  • Rapid Deployment Pack - Post-Installation Step:
    Press 'Finish
  • System will now ask to reboot. Press 'Yes' on this request
Post-Installation-task
For our installation purposes some additional tasks are required once RDP has be installed.
  • Log on as administrator or equivalent
  • Launch 'Deployment Console'

  • Go to Tools - PXE Configuration

  • Select WinPE Managed and press on the button Up until this line is on top of the list

  • Go to tabulation DS
    Select 'Execute immediately

    Press 'Save' followed by pressing 'OK'
